July 2010 Food Drive
For the last several years, scouting in Austin has put together a huge food drive for the Capital Area Food Bank. Please volunteer to help Pack 90 exceed last year’s donation of 500 lbs.!
How are we promoting the drive? Will people know about it?
July 17 – Collection barrels go up at all Austin area Randalls stores
July 13-18 – KEYE runs food drive promo during its newscasts
July 24-28 – KEYE does live reports on the food drive in its newscasts
July 19-24 – Scouts deliver door hangers
July 31 – Scouts pick up food and take to collection points
We need volunteers from the leaders as well as the parents for these activities. Please let me know if you are planning to attend the bike rodeo, and if you are willing to help out.
I need help coordinating the food drive. Please let me know how many scouts and parents from your den can hang flyers on doors, and help collect food.
