CUB SCOUT Cookout this Thursday, Summitt Elementary, 6:30. Come out for the last Pack Meeting of the school year and have some hot dogs, chips, and watermelon. Bring the whole family! (meet us by the outdoor playground and bring your chairs!)
We will be handing out neckerchiefs for your rank next year and some advancement badges!  Come get a calendar of events for the rest of the summer and fall.

All cub parents and adult volunteers are welcome to join the pack leadership at this month’s planning meeting.  In keeping with Pack tradition, we will meet on Thursday, April 22nd at Culver’s on Braker Lane for FREE ICE CREAM.

This is your chance to have event planning input for the upcoming calendar.  We will meet at Culver’s on Braker at 7:30, April 22nd.  All those who attend and help will receive a treat, courtesy of Pack 90 (adults only please, no scouts!).  See you there!

Day Camp for Cubs (and siblings age 4+ or in grades 2-5)

Our district day camp will be held June 21-25 at Walnut Creek Baptist on N Lamar.  At least 1 adult per 4 scouts must attend each day as a volunteer, and scout parents with siblings must stay.  We can attend any one of the day camps available, but hurry while spots are available.   click here for day camp info

Moms, let’s go camping with the boys!

Saturday, April 24th.  Mc Kinney Falls State Park (only 30 minutes away). Enjoy your Mother/Son quality time on Saturday with a guided nature hike and a little fishing (poles available at the park).  We will camp over night and enjoy activities and a campfire.  Fees are $15 for mom and $10 for your cub scout.  Please let us know if you plan to attend by e-mailing our coordinator -  Teri Piersall piersall@flash.net

10:00 am         Guide Nature Tour begins at Smith Visitor’s Center

12:30 pm         go to Youth Group Area to set up tents

The spring family campout will be Saturday Night, March 6th. Fees are $12 per person, 5 and under are free. Please e-Mail Jay Piersall, piersall@flash.net, with your family count, and if you can volunteer to help with food, fire, or activities.

Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet Time – The February Pack meeting will be held at Covenant United Methodist Church (4410 Duval Road) on Tuesday, February 23rd.  We will begin with dinner between 6:30 and 7 pm, awards will be presented during the evening, and a live band (some scout parents and friends) will play at some point.  Dessert will be entries from a father-son cake bake contest.  The theme is “100 Years of Scouting”.  E-mails will be sent soon from den leaders with more detail.  See you there!

Dinner will be barbecue from Pok-e-joes!  Scouts and kids under 5 are free! Adults $6, Kids $4!

For those who do not know – this year is the celebration of the 100th year of Scouting.  We kick off the year with Adventure Base 100.  This is a mobile activity center that is stopping in Austin January 30th and 31st.  The following weekend, February 6th,  is the REPORT TO SCOUT PARADE (see the next post).  Check out the link for Adventure Base 100 below;

Join Pack 90 in the 2010 “Report to State” Annual Scout Parade

We will be riding up Congress Avenue in a decorated trailer, beginning at 9 am Saturday morning.  Wear your class “A” scout uniform, bring a bubble gun, and prepare to have fun!
